Meg Douglas holds a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education from McGill University and a Master of Education in Counselling from Acadia University. Originally from Montreal, Meg began her riding journey in Miramichi, New Brunswick, before continuing through Alberta and Ontario.

As a competitive rider, Meg successfully competed on Ontario’s hunter/jumper ‘A’ circuit, with one of the highlights of her amateur career being the opportunity to ride at the internationally recognized Spruce Meadows. She later transitioned into the operational side of the equestrian industry, working within Ontario’s horse show ‘A’ circuit as well as various independent shows throughout Quebec, gaining valuable experience in both the sport and business of the equestrian world.

After traveling the globe sailing around the world on the Tallship Picton Castle, Meg went on to build a career in education and wellness. She worked as a teacher in both public and private schools, served as a Director of Education, and later developed her own counselling and academic coaching practice supporting children, youth, adults, and families.

Horses have always remained a meaningful part of Meg’s life — from growing up in the equestrian world, to camps and riding communities, to later watching her own two daughters discover their love of horses and riding.

Today, as Co-Owner of Sunnyridge Equestrian & Wellness, Meg brings together her background in education, counselling, coaching, and equestrian sport as an NCCP-certified coach, Registered Counselling Therapist, and certified Professional Equine Facilitated Wellness (Pro-EFW) practitioner in certification.

Her Pro-EFW certification allows her to deepen the horse-human-heart connection through trauma-informed, relationship-based experiences that support confidence, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and personal growth — both in life and in the saddle.

Meg believes in creating spaces where people feel safe to learn, connect, reflect, and grow through meaningful experiences with horses, nature, and community.

Gracie grew up here in Nova Scotia and brings a genuine love of horses, learning, and community to everything she does. After completing her post-secondary studies, she spent time in Ontario working alongside some of the province’s top equestrians, gaining valuable experience in both riding and coaching.

Having grown up in the equestrian community, Gracie has developed a calm, encouraging, and athlete-focused approach to coaching. She is passionate about helping riders build confidence, connection, and strong horsemanship foundations both in and out of the saddle.

Her coaching style emphasizes communication, relationship-building, safety, and helping riders feel successful through thoughtful progression and teamwork with their horses. At Sunnyridge, Gracie supports riders through mounted lessons, horsemanship education, and day-to-day barn experiences that encourage confidence, responsibility, and community connection.

Her kind and approachable nature, combined with her deep care for both horses and riders, makes her a perfect fit for the Sunnyridge community. We’re thrilled to have her with us — be sure to say hello when you see her around the barn!
